Paragliding in İstanbul

Turkey’s Pupil, Istanbul
If you spend some time, Turkey is home to many different natural beauties and cultures from east to west, north to south. It would not be right to consider Turkey knowing only a few cities, because even its own people are amazed by the places they visit and the people they meet while traveling in their country. Istanbul, as both locals and tourists know, is the first cosmopolitan city that comes to mind when Turkey is mentioned. Istanbul, which is at the top of our country’s list of major cities, has been the capital of the Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans in ancient times and contains extensive historical remains, many ancient settlements and different religious views. Istanbul, which connects Europe and Asia, has also been an important center point for trade with the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles for many years. If you are thinking of visiting Istanbul, which has coasts on the Marmara and Black Seas and whose history and structure cannot be explained, we recommend that it is crowded and the best way to visit is by roads that are not connected to traffic such as the metro, metrobus and Marmaray. You should definitely take the ferry while you are there and not think that you have visited Istanbul when you see 2-3 places. Istanbul has a structure that changes in each neighborhood. If you really want to visit, we can say that you really need to spend at least 1 week and that this will not be enough. Since Istanbul is a developed city, you can learn most things there by asking. Except for the elderly, English is mostly known and our people are helpful. If you have plenty of time to travel and are not thinking of a holiday in the sun, you should spend time in Istanbul, but if your aim is to relax, listen, and be in touch with nature, Turkey’s Aegean, Mediterranean or Black Sea would be better for this. So can you paraglide in Istanbul? Believe me, you can also paraglide in Istanbul, where you can do more than you can think of.
Istanbul - Ormanlı
The village of Ormanlı, which is 1-2 hours away from the center, offers a 5-15 minute paragliding experience on hills of 100-200 meters, depending on the weather conditions, since there are no heavy thermal currents. You can enjoy watching the lush green hills and the Black Sea throughout the flight and land in Ormanlı Beach or in the surrounding areas depending on the wind conditions. It is also useful to remind you that summer and spring are more preferred for flights and if you have a plan to experience it, contacting beforehand will be beneficial for you and effective in your holiday planning. Also, you cannot go to Istanbul without seeing the Black Sea and you will not regret having such an experience.
Istanbul - Mimaroba
Mimaroba, which is not far from the city, is located in Büyükçekmece. Although Büyükçekmece is a bit far from the center of Istanbul, it is a more accessible and decent settlement. Since there is no wide network for tandem paragliding, you can experience paragliding by contacting us or the clubs there. In general, take-off is made from the 50-100 meter hills around Büyükçekmece, Mimaroba, Büyükçekmece Lake, the coastline and the Marmara Sea accompany you throughout the flight. The flight takes 5-15 minutes depending on the average weather conditions. It is a very good option for a start, and the coastline or large areas are preferred as landing areas depending on the wind conditions. While the summer months are often suitable for flying, it is necessary to contact in advance in other seasons.
Istanbul - Uçmakdere
Uçmakdere is connected to the Şarköy district of Tekirdağ. It is more commonly known as Istanbul, and it is quite easy to reach from Istanbul, depending on your location, it is 1-2 hours away. Paragliding is done at altitudes of 250-600 meters on the slopes of Ganos Mountain overlooking the Marmara Sea. It can usually offer a longer flight experience with its thermal currents. During the flight, which lasts an average of 10-25 minutes, you land on Uçmakdere Beach with the view of the Marmara Sea, islands, vineyards and the surrounding forest. Uçmakdere, which is the most preferred for tandem paragliding in Istanbul, usually offers a better flight experience in the afternoon. We now say the same thing about the intensity that we said for weather conditions for most places, “It would be beneficial to contact us in advance”. You may also need to act early for availability in the spring and summer seasons.
